CCNP Lab 020: EIGRP Multi-Technology Lab

Lab Objective:

The focus of this lab is to understand EIGRP implementation and configuration in Cisco IOS routers. Additional technologies tested include advanced route filtering and manipulation.

Lab Topology:

The lab network topology is illustrated below:

department620

IMPORTANT NOTE

If you are using the www.howtonetwork.net racks, please bring up the LAN interfaces connected to the routers by issuing the no shutdown command on the connected switches. If you are using a home lab with no
Switches, you can bring up the LAN interfaces using the following configurations on your routers:

interface fastethernet 0/0
no keepalive
loopback
no shutdown

Alternately, you can simply connect the interfaces to a hub or switch if you have one available in your own lab.

Task 1

Configure hostnames and IP addressing on all routers as illustrated in the network topology.

Task 2

Configure EIGRP for AS 1024 on R1, R3, and R4 as illustrated in the topology. EIGRP should be configured to use Unicast packets instead of Multicast packets. Verify your configuration using the appropriate commands.

Task 3

Configure EIGRP for AS 2048 on R1 and R2 as illustrated in the topology. EIGRP should be configured to use Unicast packets instead of Multicast packets. Verify your configuration using the appropriate commands.

Task 4

Configure and advertise the following subnets via EIGRP using the following metrics:

  1. R2: Loopback192 – 192.1.1.1/32: Redistribution Metric – 100,000 – 1,000 – 255 – 1 – 1500
  2. R2: Loopback193 – 193.1.1.1/32: Redistribution Metric – 10,000 – 500 – 255 – 1 – 1500

  1. R3: Loopback12 – 12.1.1.1/32: Redistribution Metric – 30,000 – 300 – 255 – 1 – 1500
  2. R3: Loopback13 – 13.1.1./32: Redistribution Metric – 40,000 – 400 – 255 – 1 – 1500
  1. R4: Loopback12 – 12.1.1.1/32: Redistribution Metric – Default
  2. R4: Loopback13 – 13.1.1.1/32: Redistribution Metric – Default

Task 5

Redistribute between EIGRP 1024 and EIGRP 2048. Ensure that the next hop IP address for the redistributed routes is the IP address of the router that originated the route and NOT the IP address of R1. Verify your configuration.

Task 6

Configure route filtering on R4 so that the router only accepts routes with a metric between 200,000 and 300,000. Verify your configuration using the appropriate commands.
