IPv6 Multicast

The IPv6 multicast address space covers the FF00::/8 range, and more specific addresses include the following:

  • All nodes multicast – FF02::1
  • All routers multicast – FF02::2
  • OSPF DR routers – FF02::6
  • EIGRP routers – FF02::A
  • PIM routers – FF02::D

Note:    All of the addresses above have a link-local scope.
