Cisco Nexus

Cisco Nexus technology was developed for the purpose of unifying the LAN and SAN infrastructures. While most data centers use separate LAN and SAN networks with separate switches and network adapters in the servers, Cisco Nexus technology allows for the implementation of a unified fabric Enterprise Data Center architecture, with a consolidated LAN and SAN network at the Access Layer, as depicted in Figure 7.15 below.
