Network designers should be aware of different methods for tuning the e-commerce submodule. The most common optimization mechanisms include:
- BGP tuning
- Enhanced Object Tracking (EOT)
- Performance Routing (PfR)
- DNS tuning and Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB)
The most important optimization mechanism that involves outside connectivity is BGP tuning, as this is the preferred routing protocol to be used with ISPs.
All of the ingress and egress traffic from all of the points in the network to the ISP should be analyzed and this should be correlated with failover behavior . . .
