QoS and Advanced Catalyst Services – Catalyst Ingress QoS Mechanisms

Ingress Quality of Service mechanisms are applied to frames and packets received by the switch in the inbound direction. The following Catalyst switch ingress QoS mechanisms are described:

  • Traffic Classification
  • Traffic Policing
  • Marking
  • Congestion Management and Avoidance

NOTE: Only the QoS configurations that are relevant to the SWITCH exam will be illustrated in the configuration examples in this chapter.
